Confined Space Awareness Training

Confined Space refers to any place, including any vessel, tank, container, pit, bund, chamber, cellar or any other similar space which, by virtue of its enclosed nature, creates conditions that give rise to a likelihood of an accident, harm or injury.

Who Should Attend:

Any person who needs to develop the essential underpinning skills and knowledge required if entering, working and exiting low risk confined spaces where breathing apparatus is not required

Course Programme:

  • Outcomes of the Confined Space Regulations 2001
  • The Controls Required for Working in Low Risk Confined Spaces
  • Problem Atmospheres, their Occurrence, Detection and Monitoring
  • Physiological Effects of Problem Atmospheres
  • Safe Entry Procedures and Safe Systems of Work
  • Emergency Procedures and Responding to Alarms
  • Knowledge and Skill Assessment Exercises for Entering, Working and Exiting Low Risk Confined Spaces

Additional Information:

Delegates should bring their own safety footwear, waterproof clothing, hard hat and working gloves for the practical exercises.

Training Methodology:

Classroom based course, which is highly interactive and uses practical exercises and simulated case studies to reinforce understanding and learning.

Duration: 4 Hours
