Fire Warden Training

This 1-day Fire Warden course will allow attendees to implement the plans, procedures and measures concerning fire in the workplace and also learn to evacuate staff safely using Fire Warden Training techniques.

There is a legal requirement on employers to prepare an Emergency Plan that outlines how the workplace will be evacuated in the event of a fire outbreak. Fire Wardens are designated the responsibility of executing this plan in an emergency situation. This course aims to inform Fire Wardens of their responsibilities in running a fire drill effectively and safety. It also details the steps involved in developing an Emergency Plan for the workplace, in the event that one does not currently exist

What are the Benefits?

Skilled Staff

Enable employees to assist in the fire risk assessment process
Understand how fires can occur and how fire and smoke can spread
Identify the correct type of fire equipment for the class of fire
Ensure fire equipment is inspected and maintained as frequently as necessary

Confidence

To give participants the skill and knowledge required to carry out their duties in a safe and effective manner
To enable staff with an enhanced fire safety role to meet the training requirements detailed in the current workplace fire safety legislation
Be able to advise members of staff on measures that can be taken to reduce the risk of fire occurring

Entry Requirements

To ensure the greatest opportunity for successful participation in our programmes, learners are required to have a good command of English in terms of reading, writing and speaking. This standard of proficiency is indicated by achieving or exceeding the standard of CEFR B2+Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) or standard of 6.0 on the IELTS.
Learners who have achieved a passing grade at Junior Certificate level will be deemed to meet this criterion. However, learners for whom English is not their first language, are required to advise Carraig Safety Consultants, and may be required
