Emer Gaffney – Company Director
Company Director Emer Gaffney has been involved in the training and safety industry for over 15 years now making her an expert in the field. Emer is a qualified IRCA Auditor, holds a Masters in Occupational Health and Safety and strives to enhance safety throughout all industries. Over the years Emer has become passionate about private Education and has pushed Carraig Safety in achieving QQI and PHECC Accreditation.
Emer believes in team effort to run a successful company and enjoys all the relationships with employees, trainers and consultants who help make Carraig Safety the Reputable Company it is today.
Emer’s infamous Saying and running joke in the office ‘I can handle it’, but when not handling Carraig Safety, Emer enjoys breaks away by the sea and training at the Gym, her favourite class is calisthenics where you get to be a big kid all over again, training with backflips, tumbles and all sort of fun stuff.
Cathal comes from a proud background of serving the Defence Forces and whilst serving, is one of the few that can say they served Army, Navy, Air Corps and included oversee operations with the UN. Serving within the Defence Forces Cathal found his passion for training, and enjoyed passing on his wisdom to new recruits starting off on their careers.
Since Carraig Safety’s formation Cathal has furthered his Education and completed Level 9 Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety and numerous Training Qualifications including Professional Qualifications emphasising on Training and Development.
Cathal helps ensure that Quality is paramount within all our training courses and is essential for our monitoring programme that gets carried out throughout the year.
Cathal loves passing on stories and nuggets of information and when not working enjoys the company of his Local Civil Defence Group and relaxing and taking some time out Gardening. Believe it or not but Cathal puts a lot of effort in turning his garden into his own little oasis and his hard work does pay off.
Gillian is working with Carraig Safety since 2012 and is the first point of contact for our clients. Gillian has a passion for fulfilling customer needs and is proactive and hands on within her role and is and a valuable member of the team at Carraig Safety.
Gillian on a daily basis ensures the effective running of the business and manages all aspects of booking courses, organising and scheduling instructors, ensuring our QA is in place for Accreditations with QQI and PHECC (Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council), and everything else that allows Carraig Safety to run smoothly.
When not keeping everyone on their toes in Carraig Safety, Gillian loves nothing more than escaping and training at the gym and we cannot forget her love for all things GAA where she is found cheering on local GAA Teams on the field and let’s not forget her native county Tipperary.
Nicola joined Carraig Safety in 2017 and quickly found her place among our crazy antics. Nicola has over 20 years bookkeeping experience, working with many different types of companies including construction, SMEs and retail. Nicola is very knowledgeable in many computer software programs and shines in Sage, QuickBooks, and all Microsoft Office products, actually Nicola regularly schools the rest of the office on Microsoft hidden functions.
Nicola on a daily basis manages accounts payable and receivable, ensures invoices and Stock control within Carraig Safety is all in order, manages bank payments and ensures that accounts department runs smoothly. A smooth and efficient accounts department helps ensure a smooth an efficient office.
When not managing Carraig Safety’s books Nicola loves nothing more than feeling the wind run through her hair, she is an avid runner and has taken part in many community runs, maybe we will see a marathon yet!! Nicola also has two German Shepards who she lovingly refers to as her daughters.
